The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will host a public meeting to solicit feedback on the potential of a new restaurant at Cape Henlopen State Park Monday, Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cape Henlopen High School auditorium. The DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation will share a presentation about the proposal and gather public input on the proposed restaurant which would be located at the north side of the park’s main beach parking lot.
If you are opposed to the restaurant at Cape Henlopen State Park, please take time out of your busy holiday schedule to physically attend this critical public meeting. The meeting is the best and likely final opportunity to visually show and demonstrate to DNREC that the restaurant proposal at the park is unpopular and must be vacated, now. The CHHS auditorium seats 900. Those in opposition need to fill the HS auditorium on Monday, December 5th at 5:30 pm.
We understand from DNREC that public comments will be collected at the meeting and that members of the public may speak for 2 minutes if they register upon their arrival.
If you plan to speak at the public meeting, a monitor will likely limit your comments to two minutes. Please consider emphasizing:
Begin your comments by stating that you are opposed to the restaurant at CHSP
No commercialization of CHSP
No full-service, year-round, open past sunset restaurant at any location in CHSP.
Manage the park for nature, not for profit.
